the heart that features great
inside of souls lost portrait.

I know,
how you act when touched
in secret places I have found.

I know,
the sweet kisses you envoke
to remind me my soul is yours

I know,
all my heart you do keep
in shadows mystic minds we weep.

I know,
of decisions that you had to make
that kept you from your soul mate.

I know,
of what that meant to you
to try once more, to kindle anew.

I know,
your heart does break
but mends itself with every beat.

I know,
you question this and more
how can God create this chore.

I know,
that you weep at night
for things that could have, if we might.

I know,
the will it takes
to keep this love for both our sakes.

I know,
this passions breaks through everything
to give us faith to both our lives.

I know,
your love for me is deeper still
than oceans depth, or skies are blue.

I know,
and yes I understand, yet
I question Gods great plan.

And when,
the stars do go from my heart
heavens shall rage to keep us one.

I saw the title and instantly had to read. I did this for my website recently, and will drop it here at the moment with apology for the similarity. I'm new to this forum, so even unconsciously tis doubtful we ever read each other before. Very nicely written!

Anyway...

I Know...

I watch you sleeping
and I know
the first touch on your skin
should be my own.

I watch you stir from sleep
and I know
the first kiss on your lips
will be for me alone.

I watch your eyes open
and I know
that sighed slow hint of smile
is for my eyes alone.

I watch your lips part
and I know
the warmth of your mouth
will lead me on.

I watch your eyes close
and I know
within your heart I have found
a place to call my own.
