Bankruptcy laws that we have now are nothing but a joke. It used to be - if you were bankrupt, that meant you were broke! Now rich folks keep their cars and houses, stash their loot somewhere Then screw the small guys that they owe - well, I don't think that's fair!! In my administration there will be no news reporters. I'm sick and tired of reading those reality distorters! They could care less about the truth as they so humbly claim. Shock value is their strategy - embellishment their game. Their object is to write of things that they can fill with zest And, if they can cause controversy, that is always best. Mis-quote, chop off, delete the facts are all tools of their game And when they're caught, if there's no malice, they're not held to blame. They have a favorite phrase, "The public has the right to know". With indignation in their voice they try to make it so. Mule muffins!!! They don't care about us. It's all just a game To get a little glory and a byline with their name. Now we have folks who protest - folks who set themselves in flame - Folks who commit horrific crimes for their small spot of fame Because they know, thanks to reporters, they just cannot lose. They're gonna get their face and story on the evening news! Well, guess what?!?! When I'm President, I'm throwing them a curve! I'll take away the infamy that they do not deserve. There'll be no coverage of their deeds, no shot at 15 minutes And when they read the paper they will find that they're not in it!!! Well, those are just a couple things that stick into my craw And when I win there's gonna be some changes in the law! LongJohn and I are set to go and ready to begin And, with the help of Passion's poets, I think we can win!!!! |

And with a full line-up of Passionate poets in the administration, we'll have a kinder, gentler press corps. Loved the poem Liz |

Mule Muffins? I'll forgive you for sounding like Ross Perot---LOL---and I'd love to contribute to the campaign, but I've been told I'm a little CHEAP....ah ha ha ha ha But what the heck, votes are free...and I'm in complete agreement about the media, too.. |

Reminds me of Don Henely's song Dirty Laundry wonderful campaign platform... the people need the people and that's what I see here... no sensationalizers making mountains out of mole hills.....ie. young Cuban boy's dilemma. truth and honesty is the bond we need with some heart thrown in to bless our best... where's those ballot boxes located I'm still looking..... |

Ah, the country can look forward to a ballad instead of a fireside chat, a poem instead of a speech, romance instead of torrid news, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. not since Camelot have I felt such hope. This is coming from a true Irish red blooded American woman. You should not only be inaugarated, you should be crowned King of America!!!! You have my vote. Kathleen |

Ol' Long John here, with an addendum to your point of view, We must be careful to preserve the 15 minutes WE are due! And as for declaring bankruptcy, we must add a rider on, Because when our campaign is done, all our money will be gone! *urk* |

Balladeer- If we could only deal with the issue of health care reform. Then I think we could easily take the country by storm. It seems we only cater to the rich and healthy. Ignoring the poor and unhealthy. I liked, nice piece. |

Well... you DID have my vote... I was even ready to campaign for you until I got to the part where you named your running mate. *G* Now, I'm afraid I must reconsider... although the VP does tend to be fairly useless and LJA's awfully good at that. *EG* (But Toe as VP???? LOL No way would he ever be second fiddle... he's the tops!!!) |

Our next Secretary of Labor will be our Suthern Belle, Because she be-Labors Toerag's "qualities" so very well. And she can write our speeches and dream up quick replies, Because she is so good at telling all those lies. Everybody knows that Toerag could never run, For an office of the state, he's too pure to be much fun. He's pure of soul, and pure of everything else I guess, Oh. And did I also mention, he's full of pure BS? Ooops. I shouldn't have written those words of offense, Cuz now lil Belle wants to be Secretary of Defense. I suspect if I look outside, somewhat to the south, I can watch the missiles coming for my mouth. But I have a good excuse that I can use for luck, After all, I'm not the destination for the buck. Balladeer will have to spin my foolish words to make them sweet, (And in eight years I'll take his place, and he'll be on the street). |

Mr. Veep wannabee... And what, pray tell, makes you believe You'll live for eight more years? *G* With all your efforts to deceive, Are your knees trembling in fear? A secretary, this belle is not (I cannot take dictation) *G* But abundant loyalty I've got... Toe's the best in this whole nation!!!! And Balladeer will surely learn That you are an impediment... The sailor he must quickly spurn If he wishes to be President! Smooches, gentlemen... I sure have missed you!! |
