Hold me for tonight.. I know that you can't stay.. I know, for us, there's no forever.. only for today.. Don't try to make it right.. There's no more words to say.. This love we share is now, or never.. So, take my breath away...... Whisper in my ear.. But never tell me lies.. I know the truth is hard to take.. It comes with no disguise.. The path we chose is clear.. We walk with open eyes.. And everything's for love's sweet sake.. will be until it dies...... Take me to your soul.. Set our spirits free.. Tonight on wings of love's desire.. We'll reach eternity.. Your touch has made me whole.. A fire burns in me.. And no one else can quench the flame.. I'm lost within it's heat...... With the break of day.. From loving arms you'll rise.. But there's no pleading from my heart.. Though deep inside I cry.. There's nothing left to say.. I look into your eyes.. Hello Michael... The indecision is the hard part, I know, and if you are the first one to say goodbye..well, usually you end up asking yourself if you did the right thing. The only thing I can say is: Communication....talk to her, my bet is that she'll talk to you, and then you can both find out where you stand...share your heart with her.... yep... a package ... interesting concept... of words defining futility and bliss....what a combination, eh? nice work, missy....very fine writing.... "nice work if you can get it"... whoops, pardon me... a little gershwin trapped in my inner ear... and you have inspired my muse... below.... thank you *smile* ________________ ~ never say never ~ (by doreen) gershwin must be trapped, my friend, within my inner ear and maybe lines that you have written echo me in tear.... i lean to him and listen to his lyric and intent... and then i re-evaluate the way my time is spent. whose words are these, the man has asked, and i, in honest voice, quick tell him that the words are mine, since i am not his choice. there is no way to lie because i simply don't know how, yet all my lost imagining brings sweat upon my brow. thank you, my friend, for sharing lines with blatant truth, so clear -- yes! - with my sanction quite confused, i'm glad that i could hear. ~ doreen ~ ____________________________ .... you are a fine writer Sunny1! thank you for inspiring me and being tolerant of my posting my verse to accompany your very fine poetry. Hi Sunny... I really don't know if it's proper to reply twice to the same poem, but well, maybe no one will mind. Every time I read this I'm touched by your words. I've printed this out, and perhaps will write a tune for it. Actually, I was born and raised in New York state, but my home is now in Virginia. I work in Iowa at the present time. Just returned to the guitar after many moons away from it. Bought a new one Sat, and it will be here in two weeks, I hope. One corkscrew coming up!!!! |

Hi Bill... No, I really don't think anyone will mind a 2nd post....I know I certainly don't!!! I am so glad, really, that you like this poem...the words came from so far down inside, that it almost hurt to write it. Yes, that would be wonderful to have your music put to this!! I hope your new guitar works out for you. Aha!!! I can spot a Southern boy a mile off.....(even if he is a transplant.....my mother was from Kentucky.) My picture looked a bit out of whack to me, so I downloaded a fresh copy, and hopefully it will be back on one of these days!! < !signature--> I have but one goal in life.........
