Hindsight I saw you the other day That same smug smile Strewn across your lips I think back with a chuckle When I used to think That the smirk was endearing I see the poise of your stance Like you own the world And I sigh, remembering When that same confidence Used to make my knees Go weak with desire How young I was.. How naïve my thoughts I recall the pain You caused my heart The love that I thought You so openly gave Now, years into the future And with hindsight I can say thank you Thank you for showing me What I don’t want Thank you for making me A wiser and stronger person Thank you for making me Able to recognize The difference between Men and boys who Think they are men Thank you for the So called love and For the pain you handed me For breaking my heart and Forcing me to be careful Thank you for helping me Become who I am today [This message has been edited by rosepetals25 (edited 09-22-2000).] |
