~LIFE'S IRONY~

Imagine being trapped in life
where beauty grows in soul
but not in body
as she gladly gives to others,
making many smile with her charm,
filling friends and family with encouraging words
but, all she seems to receive is emptiness and pain,
she is the first to cradle the wounds of other's hearts
filling them with hope,
she writes love poetry
lives for romance,
attends weddings and celebrates their joy,
while her heart bleeds
never to be loved
destined to be alone,
many say that her soul is pure and lovely
but the shell that she dwells in is broken
and more ugly than anything ever seen,
only those who pity her say that she is attractive,
but, she knows the sad truth that can never be changed,
how cruel it is for God to allow her to dream
of embracing happiness someday
to marry and have children,
when she will never hold such beautiful dreams
for, the good are not always rewarded as it should be
note the irony

Oh Melissa this broke my heart. No one should ever give up on the dream of love. It's a gift for us one and all.

Melissa~
You touch this tenderly.
Sometimes when we continue reaching out to others
someone will someday reach out to us ...
It happens when it's least expected
and then the joy is found and all the pain
is erased in a sigh from another heart.

Sometimes we look for 'happy' only to discover
that someone else is looking for it too ...
and they find it in us.

Sad, but a message that needs to be shared.
Love ya'

Sometimes, someone can reach for a dream to find that the dream only exists in their heart. More often, it's our own fears that stop us reaching out because we think there's nothing there for us to touch. Experience has taught us that we are in a cage, and we don't expect to walk free. Love is all around, we just need to open our minds to it, and we will feel it. This poem is so very well penned and beautiful to read, take care

Melissa, you have laid bare the dreams and fears of so many, but in a sweet, touching way. Beautifully written.

As it should be to protect of unwanted dreams that seem so enticing maybe.  Dreams for the beautiful of heart ride many storms sometimes but never find their true love when they want to but WHEN THEY FINALLY DO....then there are rainbows in the midnight sky.  Patience and trust in the maker will see you through.

Melissa, this one cuts deep very deep and I can relate to it well... I once had a similar outlok on life, I felt like life's little punching bag at times, but love and friendships appear in the most unlikely places..trust me on that...have faith. Huge hug. powerful piece.

never lose the dream. . . never give up hope. . . you will find that which you seek. . . sometimes, it just takes a little longer. . .

I know it to be true my friend. . . the dream still lives. . . until we kill it. . .

A hug for you my friend. . . powerful poem. . .
