Out of body like
Shirley MacLaine
Not asleep not dreaming
I see my life drain

So disconnected
From a ceiling view
Sitting, reading
Thinking of you

Eyes on the pages
Not seeing at all
Lost to the ages
Eyes glazed like a pall

A floating eye camera
Drifts down to my eyes
Peers deep in the pupils
Scene can't be disguised

I see what I'm thinking
A fantasy romance
Unicorns riding
A flowered meadow dance

We're riding bareback
On our bare skins Butterflies
Warm sun on our shoulders
Birds soar above in the blue skies

They carry garlands
Of rose petal hue
Sparkling in the sunshine
Drops of morning dew

Coming up in the distance
The blue ocean shore
Where a great crowd has gathered
Their applause is a roar

Our white steeds are snorting
Their ivory manes flying
Smiling faces approaching
Seagulls are crying

We look to each other
Hands clasped with warm smile
The crowd now has parted
To an open wide aisle

We prance to the water
Dismount in the surf
Exchanging "I do's"
It's like a rebirth

An embrace with a kiss
We walk into the water
Music swells, and they cheer
They're our sons and our daughters

We dive to the depths
Crystal clear is the scene
Dolphins caress us
Your hair has a sheen

The telephone rings
And I'm back inside here
Pick up the receiver
It's your voice I hear

Reality's back but my face
Is filled with the rapture
Of that fantasy scene
As your words I capture

It started out to be an introspective piece but after two verses - I lapsed into fantasy - truth told I nrver know where My efforts will take me - Thanks

Kathleen-

Golly when we dream - and fantasize - should it not be the best we can imagine? if I missed any good thoughts - let me know while I still can edit ~G~ Thanks

Thanks for sharing your fantasy! I felt like I was "Out of my body like Shirley Maclaine" watching everything unfold from a distance! Nice Details and imagery!

Martie -

If I gave you such vision - my vision - I could not be more pleased. Thank you

Debbie-

I must confess - as I began this in MacLaine fashion - I hoped to be inspired to write of my darker side - My muse directed me elsewhere - I am glad you enjoyed Thank you
