If I Were Going to Need You

If I were going to need you
‘Twould be in a gentle breeze
Beyond the field of windlestraw
Beneath the willow trees

Beside the quiet tranquil pond
Where we would sit and read
Your poems of life and love to me
If this were true my need

If I were going to need you
It would be forevermore
On feathery wisps of summer wind
We’d love and laugh once more

You’d be right here beside me
In the comfort of my bed
Whispering love notes to a song
Left spinning in my head

If I were going to need you
‘Twould be on a night like this
As moonlight streams across the room
To beg a lover’s kiss

If some day I should feel the want
To be with you, somehow
If I were going to need you
It would be right here and now

All beautiful as always - but especially this last verse where you transit from "some day" to "right here and now"

Liz, like a breath of spring in the mid of winter, like a summer's day with the same wind gently cool. Loved the thread and sense of this one.
Be well
