~~~~
I lay here in the night time
while others are asleep.
I whisper to the darkness...
for my secrets it shall keep.
~~~~
I can be a different person,
here, in the midnight hour.
For the silence gives me strength
and the moonlight gives me power.
~~~~
There are those who think they know me
and in the light of day, they may.
Tho' if they saw me here this eve...
I wonder, what would they say.
~~~~
For this lady has many a dream
that only the night time knows.
There is fire beneath the cool veneer,
tho' the embers rarely show.
~~~~
After an evening of being me...
I sleep for an hour or so.
And daylight finds the other me...
The one everyone thinks they know.
T. Angel
  Boy!!!  I loved this poem.  I'm surprised I'm up at 1am down here in Georgia to read it.  It flowed very well and the rhyme was excellent.
  But for an Angel, it sounds like you have a devilish time in your dreams.LOL
Absolutely beautiful !
So many of us are found in the glowing embers.
Wonder what the world would do if everybody knew the real person as soon as they met them.  Wow what a world that would be.  It is nice to have a side reserved for just those special friends.  You know the ones just like us poets here.   Wonderful write and as I said before....so nice to have you back with us.
Garfield --  I'm so glad that you enjoyed it and that you were up at 1am to read it.  Tho I try, it's hard to be an angel all of the time.
Butterflies --  Thanks for the wonderful response!  You're probably right...the sun could never handle the midnight side of us!  Thanks for reading my friend!
Marge -- Thank you so much!  This one was fun to write.
Mark --  Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and for the wonderful 'welcome back'.  I have so missed it here and it's wonderful to know that I was missed as well.  There are so many wonderful people here and I missed you all.
