      Won’t I

There are so many quiet questions
in each minute,
can you answer?
Can you even know intent
when so quickly gray melts into blue?

And soon hunger turns to desperation,
turns and questions what to fill with,
should it be music?
I play my life across the piano
‘til the keys burn.

Or I could read all the vibrant words
thrown like baubles
dangling their passion’s eye in thoughts
that cause pondering,
that dance with heavy breathing,
that tear my nonchalance.

I could wait for you darling,
wait for you to search my face for meaning
and find it crouched and streaming,
but to wait means coming home
and I am too tired to drain the night
with some lonely vigil.

I could walk the moon,
dangle my shadow across the lawn
as I nestled with the street light,
cover myself in stars there
and if I closed my eyes
the dew would touch me
with the tenderness I yearn.

Awe but I will spread these thoughts instead
across the miles that pour out truth
and capture a smile that melts me
to a slow simmer
and then I will be full,

won’t I?

Martie
As for you last verse, that depends...

Hopefully you will be full.

Yea, and I sure do like the way your piano keys are on fire.

Responding as I'd like is difficult -
Let me say

There are times
I am so full
Sometimes with awe
Sometimes gray
Sometimes blue
I must sit at the piano
And what comes from the keys
May be soft
May be transporting
But carries me across miles
Until I close my eyes
And hear the voice
That bakes my heart

Thank you for posting this

So will you???....yes I think you will!!!  I do so love it when you are getting full and in doing so you treat us to an exquisite meal of your words.  You do shine so well in all you touch.

garfield--I guess part of life is the filling and emptying...happens every day in so many ways...thanks for your reply, I appreciate you reading my poem.

lucky--hi...I miss your sweet music, man...where have you been?

Bill--thank you for your wonderful poetic response!

Mark--How is it you always manage to make me feel so special??  Do cowboys learn how to do that in cowboy school?  Hugs!

A tough question Martie, I hope you find the answer. Wonderfully written piece.

Oh Martie ... you imagery is simply fantastic ... I could read you all day, and what pictures I'd see, beautifully woven thoughts!

Best wishes,

Corazon--maybe you are right, but you know, I like to search...and I don't think I'll ever be full.

brian--some questions just keep on asking.

Kit--thank you so much for your enthusiasm...I'm so glad you liked my imagery.

Sunshine--I'm glad you liked the imagery as well.

Bonnie--Your replies are always so heart felt...thank you.

Parker--I fill up and empty...that is why I write and sing and play...thanks

Doreen--I have thought the same when reading your poetry...so glad you saw it too.

Imagery so real ... it walks across the night
with such easiness.
Beautiful, lady ... just beautiful.

The thought of being "full" has a
bittersweet feel to it...seen in one view it
is complete...in another..there is nothing
left...hmmmmm you cause me to ponder...lol
Beautiful work...thank you for sharing your
gift of weave with all of us~
