A Portrait of a Mother's Love In rocking chair, by candle light, With shadows drawn across the night, A vision of angelic form, Beheld my eyes this wondrous morn. A gentle motion to and fro, Held mesmerized, my gaze aglow; As lullabies were sweetly sung, To mother's breast, the infant clung. Enfolded tenderly in arms, I watched, enraptured, by their charms; For in the candle's light above, 'Twas portrait of a mother's love. A wisp of hair fell 'cross her face, Head tilted slightly, bowed in grace; With lilting voice, she sweetly crooned, As infant suckled, there in tune. The heartbeats of the two entwined, As if to perfect rhythm, chimed; There, bathed in warmth of body heat, While gently rocked, their souls did meet. By candle's light, these angels shone, Sweet miracle of sacred bond. /Kit McCallum [This message has been edited by Kit McCallum (edited 09-21-2000).] |

~Karilea: Smiling here … no, they haven't Karilea, but you just did, and I thank you from the bottom of this heart! Very much appreciated these kind words! ~LngJhn~ Ahhh … Mary Cassatt, beautiful impressionist she was … lovely work, I'll take this response as a wonderful compliment LngJhn, thank you, for I do so love to paint with both oils and the pen, sigh … Now I'm no Cassatt, but here's a few I have painted, hope you and Lorelei enjoy!: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/5407/amain.html ~Bonnie: What a beautiful reply Bonnie, it means a lot to me that this came across as intended, thank you so much! ~Corinne: Thank you so much for this lovely response Corinne, I'm so glad you enjoyed this piece! ~Dee: I'm so glad this painted a picture to you Dee, thank you for saying so, much appreciated! ~James: Thank you so much for these words James, I am very grateful you enjoyed! ~Mark: Aha … dear Mark, you're making me smile. Thank you so much for the lovely applause, and now my dear friend … *** Mark mischievously makes mystic mazes merrily mesmerizing my mellow mind To try tantalizingly to tempt test trial tidbits to torture As alliteration artfully arrives arousing amicable alliance absorbing altruistic attempts Penned perhaps profoundly per pedantry play perilously pronouncing proclivity She shrugs shoulders shyly Shuffling shame Shadow shallowly shaking. Much appreciation to all, /Kit [This message has been edited by Kit McCallum (edited 09-20-2000).] |
