As I Lay Sleeping Last night as I lay sleeping You held me in your arms I felt your breath in my hair your hand at my waist and I knew all was right with my world Last night as I lay sleeping I dreamed of happy ever after You were there— Dancing barefoot with me on the beach Splashing me in the surf and I smiled a dreamy smile. Last night as I lay sleeping I heard you whisper your heart: “Someday I want you to be my wife” My eyes flew open as my heart skipped a beat With my breath in my throat I replied “Someday I will be” And I knew it would be so. |

Thanks for the "rave" reviews! Sven, I think you jinxed me. This is the first thing I've written since the duet we wrote. Dee, hopefully now that my muse has returned, I will be posting more often. I just love getting new "fans". ) I believe my website is listed in my profile, I'd love to have you stop by and visit! Kit, and it's so nice to be read! Thanks for stopping by. Snowpants, thank you for reading! Take me as I am or watch me as I go |

Tara: As always I find your writing impeccable. You have been an inspiration to me to continue to write when I thought I could write no more. Thank you Shawn |

Tara, I blush so brightly every time I read this poem. You took a secret little piece of my heart and made it into a beautiful glimpse of the love we have together. And to all of the readers who commented, especially you men, don't EVER think that women don't hear you when they are asleep. They hear every word you say! |
