Doors swing open on lose hinges Poverty’s a state of mind... Cuddling like freezing pigeons, Two lone shadows intertwined, Staring in the eyes August, Down the emptied water-well... While the wind, so dry and raucous Sweeps the body’s every cell. Hot and humid, lustful dreams,-- Women wearing see-though gowns, The temptations will not cease, In the chest, the clock still pounds... Clocks still pound,-- fervent, ardent, And resound in the heart. Autumn—questions disregarded, Autumn-- foliage in the yard... In the whirlpools of the sawdust, Wanders memory perplexed,-- There is only August, August There is nothing coming next... You are a natural poet, through and through. This piece gives the reader the actual feeling of dryness, heat, and futility, and you've done so in quite an original style and rhythm. *shaking my head* Gosh, you write well! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
