HI everyone, well I feel kind of silly putting down my pen and taking a poetic holiday only to pick it up again and write a poem. I am still on a break and this is strictly a once off. This poem is a special dedication to someone I love dearly but am afraid I may now lose due to circumstances in her life that I am powerless to help with. The words just flowed out today. Thanks in advance for understanding.

For my sweet angel who is in my thoughts always.

=======================

A sacred vow

In awakenings of long sedated senses
you are projected upon the iris,
an azure princess
set within deepest shade.
I have dragged this body
of mine
through the lonely exile,
now with you held
here I may never walk alone.
The despondent covers that
held me under thumb, kept me
locked with key
crumbles
to virgin snow;
in that first glance
without the
bearings and melancholy
I was found
and in
the same emotion
lost in you.

Through distances caresses
of faint skin,
connections are crafted
in the trance
of  ghost dance
to inner psyche.
In shaman honesty
layers of defence shed
to bright transparency
I saw the very centre of you
reflected in the very core of me.
Apple eye apple valentine,
You are all to me.
I only fail to validate
your delicate intricacies
to my confidants looking on solely
through my obscure narrative,
no debate or carbon test
can pierce or dissect
the ambrosial wash that baptises me.
They have not heard
your complex tender talk
equal in euphoria and heart ache,
or drifted into insomniac nights
following dawn to your feet.
In that light you are an enigma,
the feared quandary but let them
shudder and pray for my fragile self,
For you are the Immaculate Vision,
that pains their weak eyes to see,
only I vow never to look away.

====================
Bri...in the past... you have written some of the most deep and intellectual poems
I have ever read...used words that I had not a clue what they meant...
wrote with metaphors that i could not decode
Those 11 words above...
are some of the most profound you've ever wrote...
You KNOW...I Should have that tattooed on my forehead

>>I saw the very centre of you
reflected in the very core of me.
Apple eye apple valentine,
You are all to me.<<

Ive read this poem several times now...
each time seeing another layer...another emotional level reached...
I think this is one of the best you've written...it is one of my top 5 favs of
yours...
I just wish you didnt have to go thru
the pain that comes from being inspired this way...
but oh how it does inspire us...
(youknowthatIknow)...
I'll be in touch soon
take care

I know that I have been cryptic in my poems when it comes to dedications but now things have happened that will be drawing me away from the site, personal affairs that need my time and focus and that will hopefully resolve themselves for the best. I would like to thank Passions (Ron and all the poets) for their support and friendship and I would like to dedicate this poem to Dawn (pout) who I will love always. I really do not wish to go into details, thank you.

To Sunshine, Kit, Corinne, Jan, Martie, RP25 and Balladeer thank you for your wonderful comments and support.

Hey Brian,
Can I mark your essays? A+ for internal congruence and poetic masterpiece.
Be well

Brian, sometimes a holiday is not what we need. Sometimes we need the ear and shoulder of a friend. Going by the replies here, you have the latter.
Beautifully written. I hope everything works out for you.

So how could anyone not let a you shine when you do it so well from your heart.  Rules are made to be broken when it comes out of love and in doing so you have not only honored her...you have graced us with another special moment with you.  I bow to you and applaud your soul.
