I believe this was the second poem I wrote - some time ago - and I don't think I've ever posted it...

SERENADES

Trill, the Silk-Tailed Warbler sings
Serenades from lofty wings.
Erudite, astute, and wise,
Sees through perspicacious eyes.
Debonair and jovial,
Winsome plumes adorn his soul.
Gilded bevies entreat love
Thither nestles ONE fair dove.

There's no way my early poetry was (and may never be) as good as this early efort of yours IS!
(Needless to say I love the picture too and wonder if you've taken the pictures I'm viewing yourself)

I sincerely hope you continue in this vein
your work is most appreciated.

Thanks all...

Mark - Glad you liked it - I've never been partial to it, I guess - that's probably why it's not been posted before...Thanks..

Dee - Thanks - and we're always our own worst critics... Don't underestimate your talent..

Kethry - Nice to have you stop by and enjoy - I'm glad I could contribute to your smile..

Victoria - My humble thanks to you as well..

Sy - Likewise - on all counts..

suthern - funny thing is - I keep trying to outdo my first work - I don't think I've done it yet...

Wil - I have to confess - I was teaching poetry before I ever started writing it.. and yes, I did take the pictures - from free graphics sites online...  and it's nice to be appreciated.. Thanks..
