From Here to Distance ©2000 Christopher Ward a chase~ the chase from then to now a game~ our game first to fall you smile I frown you cry I smile and again begin- én motion cir-cular we float through ringless trees ‘cross dreamless delusionings, kissing foreign foliage all... the... while... dancing gaily on that distant horizon's edge teetering on the balance a-pointed pin pin-pointed on a star map that there, we, us a sigh across infinity we meet we burn we love then die -orgasmic explosion- the only remnants, words empty; cold warm; heartening deceased and meaningless now only arms have the power to defeat the empty-cold ...of space |

You encircle the infinite distance, define the invisible, measure the vastness of a hug. You do the impossible I was so happy to see your name this morning. I knew it would bring a smile to my face. Liz |
