Reaching out for the stars That twinkle in the night. Awakening to the morning sun Hiding from its glorious light. The sun rays bounce off your face As you slide from beneath the sheets. You reflect on last nights dreams While you slip slippers onto your feet. Walking over to the window Spreading the curtains ever so wide. Taking a look out at a beautiful morning Observing sunflowers stretching toward the sky. The bumbling bumble bee zips for bud to bud As the majestic monarch floats from flower to flower Both pollenating a breathtaking landscape While you sit and watch for hours. Finally you're aroused out of your daze By a refreshing spring breeze. It stimulates you to get out And pick wildflowers on your hands and knees. Garfield |

This is a fabulous poem about simplicity in pleasures we all take for granted. Thank you for sharing. Kathleen |

This is wonderful!!! This is the kind of morning I am having up here in Alaska..one of the few left before the big freeze sets in!! Thank you for putting it into words, as I am going to read it on those days when I can't see out my window because of the ice!!! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

Thanks Sunny1 for your kind words. I'm so happy that I was able to paint one last picture for you. But I'm sure that those icy landscapes are just as beautiful with that blanket of white glistening in that Alaskan sun. Garfield |
