I wrote this today but it is a reflection on a comment my ex made to me about one year ago...she left this comment on my answering machine..."What the hell is goin on."  Emotionally I was pulling away...She has been gone over a year and a half.  When she first moved out I desperately held on to her for about 3 months and half-heartedly held on for another 3 months and then I gathered the strength to let go and move on...feelings change as circumstances change...that's what's going on..

What's Going On

It's clear to me all my feelings for you
have gone off and deserted me
leaving new desires yearning to go
where they can be properly nourished to grow.
Your Love is something you didn't care to share.
Passive inaction will finally collect it's toll
as now I'm afraid that I must go.
And I know you wonder who and where and why stole my heart.
No one took my heart and still we must move apart
because me and my heart require a fresh new start.
Now you know that opportunity doesn't forever stay
and sooner or later its going, going, gone.
And even though I'm rapidly moving away
I'm still close enough to hear you say
"What the hell is going on."
Oh yes, this sounds like the last desperate plea
of a woman trying to get along with me.
But alas...it's too late
because I'm what's going on.
And if you look around for me
you will clearly see I'm gone.

You've wrote some great expression here James...

I found this to be a read that kinda brings out feelings that were buried deep...

James

You certainly put your thoughts down on paper with this one.  Nicely done.  Some people need to have it announced on CNN before they realize what's doing on.

Hey- so glad to see that you didn't stay and make the whole situation worse... Kind of a boredom thing. Sounds like you gave a wakeup call to the girl... Too bad it had to end that way though.

James, a nicely written piece, straight from that honest heart of yours. Take care,
