He had his whole life ahead of him
Until the day when he gave that life away
When he woke up, he was in another place
A place that he didn't know or understand
It was new to him,
But somehow, he knew he belonged there

She was the closest thing there was to an angel
She'd never been here before, always been there
Living knowing there would always be a tomorrow
In a place that she would always know
Until the day that she would be called to leave
It was new to her,
But somehow, she knew she belonged there

They met there and found a love for eternity
Then came the day they both knew would happen
He didn't want her to go, but he knew
This was the way that things had to be
But it didn't mean that they had to like it
It was new to them,
But somehow, they knew they'd meet again

He found that even though it was Heaven
It wasn't the same without her there too
Spending the time alone, wondering if he'd see her again
He knew what he had to do, he had to find her
They wouldn't let him go, but he persuaded them
It was new to him,
But somehow, he knew he couldn't be without her

So, they entered new lives, each one very different
She married, divorced, lost her parents, ended alone
He became a drifter, going from town to town, lost
They each became successful, but something was missing
The one thing that they had been searching their entire lives for
It was new to them,
But somehow, the would find love

Walking the streets not knowing where they were going
They knew they would find what they wanted
It made them look around, made them see
He was about to be taken back when he saw her
And they would love each other forever
Was it new to them?
Somehow, it was, and somehow. . . it wasn't
