~Lost In Time~~An Endless Love~

It's midnight, the year 1883
the lamppost light eluminates shadows of night
misty fog, a shroud hovers, encircles to grip his mind
gazing at the heavens, he relives the past
waits to see her drift slowly by, a repeat scene
rehearsal's of endless dreams...

A lone star falls, a trail of white flickers
a fire to pierce his naked heart
wet cobblestones reveal where footprints once stepped
memories, moments lost...

3 days pass, still he waits
it's midnight, intently he listens
sounds of soft footsteps approach
he rushes to see, lost again
only a single red rose on cobblestone waits

Well, this wasn't what I was expecting ). What a sad poem. Hoping it wasn't you that experienced this. Forever love can be uplifting but also so SAD...

A love that lives in the heart and in memories of the heart shall forever leave footprints in the rain.  Wonderful read and such tender sadness conveyed in this one...but a peaceful serenity as well.
