hour past midnight,
growing on two
no place to go
nothing to do
typhoon raging
howling with rain
slowly swarming
adding it's pain
korean soup beside me
computer in my face
thousand miles from home
living in another place
held in a nation
besieged by it's own name
no past no future
no chance at fame
in a bitter land I dwell
one betrayed by memories past
creating a smaller version of hell
as long as this crisis will last
and so for now
reality must be
untill the world
can finally see

"There were times in my life
when I was going insane
tryin to walk through
the pain
when I lost my grip
and I hit the floor
yeah I thought I could leave but couldn't get out the door" - Aerosmith "Amazing"

We never learn do we? Theres always someone who thinks that they are bigger badder and more worthy...this is an excellent look at our stupidity...take care... I have the utmost respect and admiration for service members.

I'm sending this back up to the top so it can be read by more people. This was very dynamic.

Hey James...

How wonderful to see you - and the Intruder - all in the same day - I'm SOOOOOOO psyched...

I love this poem, btw - Looks like you're ready to come home, eh??? We miss ya lots - and think of you often, my friend...

wow.  thanks for all your wonderful comments.  I've been busy with work and all, but I try to find the time to share what I can.  this place is awesome though.  if I wasn't going back to texas after this place, I'd prolly stay here another year.  I'm starting to learn hangul (korean), but it's a process that takes time.  I miss you all.  you people are my family, your words are my courage, your smiles my strength.  now if I could find some way to get a lazy job at my next assignment.  ummm... I don't think so.  LOL  it was a blessing to see so many names on this thread.  I was counting on at least one, but this many was astounding.  perhaps I'll be able to pay it back in some small way.  once again, thank you.

p.s. - I'm an uncle again btw.
