Sometimes a man is such a fool- The way he makes his bed in life. The choices made are often cruel, So hard on children, self, and wife. To dream, and then to chase that dream, Have wrecked and ruined many homes... Too late the cost he’s finally seen- And finds himself left all alone. But something in the wild goose’ cry- Inside does stir responsive chord. And makes him spread his wings and fly- The lonely train of wandering... board. So fly, and flee, oh, foolish one- The day will come when you’ll regret- The things you had and threw away... To pursue some new quest you met. And so I’ve seen, and so I’ll say... Although my dirge seems harsh and cruel. The coward never seems to stay- The wanderer is born a fool. Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/index.html |

So true, we seem to take the things we have for granite. Not knowing what we have until it's gone! It's sad that it happens... <*\\\>< Be an organ donor...give your heart to Jesus! |

There's a fine line between the dreamer and the wanderer - and a finer one that delineates levels of foolishness.... We each have to answer to ourselves on that one... This is some fine introspective work, John... |

Great poem. Saddly I have played that fool. But my wife held on to me and made me see the light. Keep writing |
