This day - so special - transcendent Is it the transfer of summer? The sun is covered in haze The humidity oppressive yet I am floating cool and serene My thoughts miles away in flowered fields The harsh actuality of my surroundings Glazed with the greater reality Of your words suspended above my eyes Buttercups, Queen Anne's lace, and Heather No box, no instrument here and still Celestial music flows through the grasses Winds itself upon the zephyrs Singing your song, soaring my kite Carrying me above the clouds Their downy feel- like rabbit fur Caresses my skin with your thoughts A counterpoint made in heaven A fugue and toccata going beyond Mere mortal concept layered In fervent declarations Breath heavy with meaning Moans of import too sweet And so I dissolve in crystal shards Like sugar glaze as you seep Into my pores, a venous transfer Straight to my heart What magic have you wrought Upon my soul that I fall so willingly Into the depths of your being? |

Bill--sounds like you have been sipping from the magic that cupid brews up on hot humid days...this is very beautiful! [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 09-13-2000).] |

Cupid - with his bow and arrows - needs more target practice - I'm getting grazed, but not pierced- - but the feeling is the same -perhaps I missed one entering unseen - Thanks Martie [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 09-13-2000).] |

So soft and tender a love song, with many wonderful phrases, written by one who's been in love, and falling in love again. This time it's much much sweeter. This is very beautiful, as usual Liz |

Wilfred - a great read - complex, but flowing - the thread of the poem is consistent. I like the part about the venous transfusion straight to the heart - great metaphor for the way love can drive in from a thousand different directions. One piece of advice though - even though it may kill you to say it, tell her you love her cat. Later, when she isn't watching you real close, you can give kitty the boot - lol. |

Bill, If a piece of writing transports me to another place, another reality, an enchantment has occurred. I found this poem of yours enchanting. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

"What magic have you wrought Upon my soul that I fall so willingly Into the depths of your being?" Ahh! The magic of love. Just visiting from the Corner Pub where I occasionally hang out and was so pleased to find such wonderful words from you. Helen |

Excellent writing, Wilfred. Interesting, isn't it, how our minds can place us in environments so far removed from actuality? Love will do that to one......thank you. |
