Your tears fall on my shoulders warm, Freshly made from your newest disaster, I hold you firmly against all harm, Till you sobs end after whimpering. Little one, You cry at the sound of thunder Your moist eyes close as crying grows silent, Calming till you are asleep with in my arms, As finally all your fears have been spent, And momentary peace is in your mind. Little one, You cry at the loss of wonder. Your breath slows to a gentle rise and fall Eyes flutter as into dreams your spirit drift, What is that dream that does so softly call, Till waking bring reality ripping back inside. Little one, You cry in the daylight breaking. Eyes swelling with what ever opening sees Searching to the mirror to reflect oneself, Realization causes the fears and flees Within the confines of the mind and sobbing Little one, You cry and the world is shaking.
