The Pain of Pain

How painful is the pain of one you love
How helplessly you watch as days go by
I wish somehow that I could claim as mine
The agony desease will not deny

The sound of pain can pierce the silent night
And dull the brightness of a sunny day
If I could take this burden from your life
I would bear the weight myself all of the way

I wait the morning with expectant hope
Sitting by your side in silence pray
That you will somehow feel the warmth of love
And God will bring more comfort to the day

Oh, Liz, this poem pulls hard at my heart.  My love and prayers are with you both.  I've been off the net for nearly two weeks, but my husband let me use his computer today.  You are so dear.  Thank you for sharing.
