What passion does my heart still hold?
Embodied in this silent cold
Where love no longer sheds my tears
Where life no longer causes fear.
For with each day I grow more numb
Of this world that now surrounds me.
I look not for the future find
Of dreams I once had in my mind
To get me through this dismal life
Where present, past and future fight
To occupy my thoughts.
I’ll pass this day just like the rest
And go the way that I feel best
Relieves my angered notions
With time I hope that I will know
The passions that I once could show
The people that surround me.
So treat these not as final thoughts
But those that sleep through bitter frost
And hope that I shall one day wake
Up to the love that saved me.

Spiked~
This is intensely good.
I liked the line -
'Where love no longer sheds my tears'
A different perspective ...

Hey...a wise lady (*see above) once told me, that you get back what you give...want love, give love, want passion?  give it...  Harder words to live by than to type, but you know that I know---and I'd light a candle for you, but ouch!  ROFLMAO....HUGS.

Thanks Marge and serenity. Sometimes we don't get back that which we give.

Sometimes its hard to see what a simple word or action brings back to you...but believe me every thing you do has an affect...if you dont take a chance well who knows what you might miss...loving someone being willing to love...thats the greatest risk we ever take...but isnt it worth it? Sure theres gonna be pain...but for just one moment to look in his/her eyes and KNOW you are the one? Hugs to you poet friend...and a shoulder or a willing ear if you choose to talk.
