This poem was written for a very special person - our daughter.

One of life's treasurers is having a daughter of your own,
someone to cuddle, share life with, and to bring home.
A child is an image of its Mom and Dad,
full of expectations of things that they never had.

Sue is her name, and when she was a little girl,
she had pink cheeks and blond hair with lots of curls.
She was a beautiful child with a smile so bright,
She laughed and played from morning till night.

Sue loved to play soccer and volleyball,
and after that season, she was into basketball and softball.
The terrible thing was that she was never home,
We missed seeing her, and her dog Fonzi would just cry and moan.

Sue went off to college and matured with friends galore,
She is everything that we expected her to be, plus so much more.
With a great personality and love in her heart,
We love her to pieces and miss her when we are apart.

I am there for her and she is there for me,
she is my buddy and friend, and the greatest company.

Good evening 'didi',
This writing has really touched me, as I could feel your heart pouring out when I read this. It's very lovely 'didi', you must write more, and I look forward to reading more. You definitely have a style all your own.

Sunshine:

Thank you for stopping by.  My daughter was thrilled - I framed it and gave it to her 2 weeks ago.

DiDi~
This mom sure knows these feelings.
Pride at the wonderful people they've become
and unconditional love.

Wonderful loving thoughts for your Sue.
Thanks for sharing them with us.

Bill

Thanks for coming by and reading this.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments.  Thanks about by heart pouring out - I sometimes feel that I put too much emotion into it.

Marge

Thanks for your kind comments.  Sue is a very special person (we have a son too!) Children bring pain as well as love to a parents heart!  But, once they grow up and out the door - then different problems come up.  Thanks again!
