The Old Oak How oft the times have been The old oak has withered thin Watching ore our lives with shade Blocking heat from sun's bright rays As the leaves turn chromatic Our lives are filled with certain magic Our home we've made beside the oak The bond of love wears no cloak With the passing of each season The steadfast oak performs with reason Extending mercy from the sun Providing homes for little ones The oak is always there for me A place to prop, my mind run free The roots run deep within the ground The secret of it's strength is found The golden hues of fallen leaves Yesterday's kisses and the lives we lead The coming cold of barren branches A strength in years and our many chances With the passing of each season Our love reflects the old oak tree The laughter from the birds that sing And new growth each coming spring |

"A place to prop, my mind run free" sounds like a good place where we could all hang out! |

Marcy~ In my mind you made me climb the branches of that oak of mine What delight to swing among the memories you were making - now as fall approaches it's those chromatic leaves I'LL BE RAKING ! ![]() A true beauty, hon. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
