Sometimes we have to say goodbye-
No matter how it hurts...
To try and go on otherwise-
One with disaster flirts.

I guess it’s sometimes easier...
To up and walk away...
Than wait for tragedy to strike-
In some far, distant day.

Goodbyes do not come easy...
But I’ve had to say a few...
The hardsest goodbye of them all,
Is the one I can’t tell you...

You’ll wake up in the morning-
And you’ll find my things are gone...
I cannot justify it,
For I know my ways are wrong...

I had to write a line of verse,
At least I had to try...
And whether you should cry, or curse-
At least I said, “Goodbye”.

It's always hard to come up with the words to say good bye, sometimes it is better to just move on.  Love it.

My wife left me without saying goodbye or leaving a goodbye note...and I thought for quite a while that I had really got ripped know at least she could have left a note...
Realize now there are lots of ways to say goodbye and she was so driven by her anger that it was probably better that she didn't leave a note...I've had it happen both ways and a note that says goodbye hurts just as much as not receiving a note...James

I'd agree goodbyes are hard, and sometimes you never know whether you should have said anything or not.
Good poem though.

Be well

I guess there's just no real good way, is there?  Your words and feelings are always well portrayed, though, GS..

This IS just a good poem, GS...right? What I am asking is...there's no real truth in it for you!? We'd miss you so much!

Remember that we're always here,
Just in case you're are in need.
A place you're always welcome in
To come and let your soul be freed.

I hope you're not leaving us, but incase this is what's happening, I hope you know you always have a place to come. A place where you have friends, that do genuinely care.

Though the faces may change, remember we're always here.
I hope the brighter days in life find you around the corner GS.

You write some very well expressed poetry.
Have no doubt if you go you will be missed.
No matter what aspect of life it's in. Whether here or someone else's shall be missed.

Goodbyes are never pretty.

You've made even "Goodbye" a thing of substance and beauty, dear Troubadour.
