I Listened to Koln

I listened
to Koln
tonight.

The waves
pummeled
and
crushed,
rhythm
rushed
to
light
against me,
as if I
were at the
carriage house
still
wrapped
tight
in a blanket
of you,

night's
cinnamon
sadness
pouring,
liquid
madness,
through
seering sun
into
late fall
light.

I listened
to Koln
tonight
and remained
somehow
unfrightened,
upright,

as I
had
yet
to
do.

"night's

pouring,
liquid

seering sun
into
late fall
light." -- Stunning words my friend! You create such unique images with all your work. I stand in awe yet again.

Claire-

I've no Knowledge of Koln at all - but after reading this and Especially
"as if I
were at the
carriage house
still
wrapped
tight
in a blanket
of you"
You may try to call me flattered again - but may I remind you - "flattery is insincere' and my words are not as I recall my last reply to you.
(I will hear Koln)

'tis so easy to visualize Claire, for we have all at one time or another enwrapped ourselved in a special music that allows us to be transported, or even protected within in its notes.

Would you be speaking of "The Koln Concert" by the pianist Keith Jarrett??

That's the first thing that I thought of when I read the title. . . and as I read the poem, I thought about it more and more. . .

Just amazing Claire. . . simply amazing. . .

Thanks everyone, for reading. I'm glad there was a little bit of this piece that made sense to someone! (besides me)

Sven, that is the exact piece of music I am referring to...isn't it magical? It is very special to me.

Claire,

I'm still finding something in this That fascinates me.  It's so different from what you usually write.

Michael, it is true, this is a bit different from my usual poetic offerings. As you know, I prefer writing in classic meter and rhyme, but am tempted, now and again, to try my hand in free verse. Who knows? Maybe if I keep trying, I'll eventually get it right.   Thanks, dear.

Severn, I thank you, in earnest, for the sweet words you left for me, and am pleased that you found this to be something you enjoyed reading.

Sven, oh yes, do find another copy, and feel it, my friend.
