Intentions

In still of evenings soft repose
Thoughts of the day become exposed
Unfinished tasks etched in your mind
Are to tomorrow’s deeds assigned

The greatest plans of life emerge
With strong intentions they converge
And lying back upon the bed
You solve the problem in your head

With obligation’s plan complete
Your conscience drifts right off to sleep
When morning comes and swallow sings
Your mind’s refreshed with newer things

Somehow the glory of the day
Sweeps your intentions right away
The problem that you took to bed
Has stepped aside and left your head

Intentions do not solve your plight
They only help you sleep at night

Elizabeth.....
              This was wonderful to read!!
Procrastination is the name of the
game. I think we humans invented
it just so we'd have a reason to
          believe there'd be a tomorrow!!

Elizabeth,
How true the words you have written here in this work of yours. The following lines, how well you put them together, and how true they are.

Somehow the glory of the day
Sweeps your intentions right away
The problem that you took to bed
Has stepped aside and left your head

I enjoyed reading all of your responses to this procrastinating poem
We all have good intentions, don't we?
Thanks
Liz
