Turret Dreams

at end of
evening's sigh,
when streets
sleep
and the sky
burrows down
into
the night

a century of stars
shine,
illuminating
sheer
the wine
that tempts
these thirsty
thighs

bare legs
languish soft
against
air
that was meant
for you
to breathe

silky skin
parting
the sheets,
starting
to believe
these turret
dreams

Claire,

I found this both sensual and lovely...yet it is so much more than that...I hear a heart calling in the night.  Well done as usual, my friend.

Can a male poet become enamoured of more than one female poet at a time? I guess he can! Whew!  Like a drunk I'm going to have to 'swear off' on you -lest I fall off the wagon. (I know what I'll do - make sure I've had a healty dose of my object - to ward off side effects - then concentrate on reading your work as a means of improving my own sensual writing skills) (jes kidding - this was wonderful and beautiful and I really loved it very much.

LJA, so...does this mean you like it???

JulieAnn, thank you very much for reading and for the "wow"

Michael, your perception comes as no surprise to me...thank you for your sweet words today. Glad you enjoyed reading.

Janet Marie, you're so funny! Thanks for reading, dear.

Bill, you're a shameless flatterer, I am convinced of it.     I don't know who the other female poet is, but she must be special to have you so smitten. You're welcome to read my work any time you feel like it, but it's not exactly "smitten" material, I'm sure. Take care

Claire. . .

wow. . . I can just picture the flickering candle in this one. . . so soft. . . okay. . . if I say anymore, I'm just going to give myself away. . . so, I'll stop now. . .

Amazing. . .

Claire~
This is just WONDERFUL !

Your phrases fall in soft array of awakening sensuality.

A pleasure to read, dear poet.

Dark Angel, (smiling) thanks for the Phew! (still smiling)

Sudhir, my most sincere thanks to you...I'm glad you liked this little poem.

James, oh dear James, I am so sorry. I would never want to contribute to you feeling uncomfortable in any way... will it help if I promise never to write about my silky skin again? (((you))) (still, I do rather like the idea of having your undivided attention...)

Kit, thank you so much. Free verse is not my forte' but every now and then I try. Thanks for reading, Kit.

Miss Marge, your pleasure is my pleasure, my friend. Thank you!

Claire ... you've managed to manipulate sensuality with the utmost skill and craftsmanship ... One of these days we'll be reading this same poem from you ... perhaps without the dream
