Infamy Can Justice see beyond the Chestatee or farther-reaching border knobs of slate, where the Oostanaula turns toward Tennessee and graves remember Andy Jackson's hate? Bluecoats herded on a trail of tears the patriarchs of peaceful Cherokees, farmers one and all for countless years, victims of a greed their homes to seize. Those who fought to keep that deeded them, like sickly cows were buried where they fell, no rights at law, with none to dare condemn that white man's land-grab as the vilest hell. Where Georgia hills once rang to cries of gold, blatant murder echoes won't grow cold. --HA |
