I have ransomed my hearts contentment
for reason I, fool, thought correct.
Allowed my heart to find soft sanctuary
when I should have followed intent.
Thus burdend with this hollow shell
of blood, bone, morrow and distaste,
I have now found myself anchored
on naked shores that I have made.
Yet my heart still beats its song
of wonder lust from love you gave.
And I, fool, should now see this wrong
where my nights are lonely as yours.
As simple surfaces of my soul torn apart,
mend quickly with the love from your heart.

a heart tis never foolish
unless its loved in vain ...
the love you held was precious
otherwise it could not cause this pain.
Still I bet you would not trade these tears ...
for the special memories that you did gain ...
nor would anyone whos loved, dare call you a fool ...
for the traces that still remain.

********
you bleed and ache off the page in this Michael...
we learn as we go baby ...
we only lose ourselves when we stop trying.

I gotta go with Jan on this one Michael.  Although I know your heart will mend because a heart like yours is a rarity indeed.

Hugs,

Michael
I, fool, that I am, was held captive by this masterpiece until its last whispering breath.
Be well

A heart's content is never at peace
Until true love returns to thee
Tears may fall upon thy cheek
Remembering times ago so sweet
Then one morn the sun will beam
It's warm embrace shall guide thee
Towards a love of new beginning.

hi MichaelG
Just a quick note to let you know I read your poem and there's a verse that just pulled me right thru the screen...
"As simple surfaces of my soul torn apart mend quickly with the love from your heart"
