Sing me a Poem Sing me a poem soaked in pure rhythmic rhyme Vacant of places and endless of time With images’ splendor, and words of a sage A verse to remain here for many an age Draw me a vision of what’s in your mind With phrases of eloquence, notions sublime Kaleidoscope colors and sweetness of kiss And illusions of dreams that don’t even exist Sing me a sonnet flung soft to my heart And fill it with love notes on strings of a harp Then pluck the sweet music so lovingly made A Shakespearean melody, tenderly played Chant me a rhythm with words of a hymn That flow from the depths of the spirit within Then I’ll be contented and free from all pain With poetry’s lifeblood that runs through my vein Dear poet, please sing a sweet sonnet for me And I will be bathed in divine melody Elizabeth Santos |

Elizabeth~ It's as it should be the words of your song flowing gently over me taking me along Holding the plume of quilled ink rhyme writing your song on this heart of mine A song of thoughts so sweetly sung shall be like the stars so beautifully hung Lighting the sky well into the morn your song of sonnet falls on my dawn **Love - love - love it my talented and inspirational friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I will sing you a song in my tired ole voice You have asked me so sweetly I cannot say no So a song I will sing to you..I have no choice Just go outside and listen to the stars as they glow This is my song that I will sing to you It is one of heaven's prayers so loving and true It is the only song I have I hope it will do So listen to the stars they will sing for you Love this one much my friend. What a lovely way to start my morning!! This flows beautifully, Elizabeth. (I hope you have better luck than I've had begging someone to sing to me! I think they fear I'll sing along! *G*) |
