Little children come out to play
I wait in the dark
Upon your innocence I always prey
For I am a shark

Little children softly scream
You'll waken the dead
For I am coming to haunt your dream
While you're in your bed

Little children leave your beds
I wait in the dark
I'll rip out your eyes and cut off your heads
I think it's a lark

Little children cower in fear
I like it like that
I'll shred your voices, make nightmares appear
On your blood grow fat

Little children come out with me
I wait in the dark
Leave behind your life, go away free
My truth is so stark.

Kethry
This is quite fearsome...
---------
have you listened to Ozzy Osbourne singing Mr. Tinkertrain... starts something like this... (if I remember well)
Would you like some sweeties?
Come a little closer
I'm gonna show you a brand new world tonight
...
Once you're there I'm gonna take you for a ride
...

well here is a metallica number very famous- called Enter Sandman that sings...
"Hush little baby, don't say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
It's just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head"
...
---------------
Now Kethry, if you haven't heard these, hear them and be more inspired... but I will never let you close enough to any kids I know to sing them "lullabies"...   LOL

regards,
Sudhir

Sudhir, Actually I've heard both those pieces of music. The inspiration for this piece was a song called "little children." I don't know who sang it but it was pretty scary.
And you know what they say the hand that rocks the cradle... I'm currently writing another that a little more horrific and less thrilling.
Be well
O Kethry

Hi Kethry,
I also wrote my horror challenge about little children, but I have never heard those songs. I guess the Bogey Man is the scariest kind of horror to me!  Good Job!
