Blood StreamI wish to lie upon the bank where the river's running deep Close my eyes in daylight's dream without the will to weep Release the sands of sorrow to the flow of freeing foam Each grain, a sharp reminder of the hauntings I have known But reverie's rhyme I cannot court upon the bonny green Love's lying face, soft smiling eyes, is seldom what it seems And a blood stream's turmoil torrent darkens dawn of day's depart In a rush of gushing current rolls its crimson 'cross my heart |

Terrific images here from you Claire... Love's lying face, soft smiling eyes, is seldom what it seems And a blood stream's turmoil torrent darkens dawn of day's depart In a rush of gushing current rolls its crimson 'cross my heart ..... WOW... ... is all I can manage for now... regards, sudhir |

WOW! I've read it three times now and am still assimilating! This is a poignant/powerful piece Claire... *shaking head* I don't know what to feel here, really...LOL This part: Close my eyes in daylight's dream without the will to weep Oh yes, what a wish! Beautiful? Who knows, I love the imagery and the associations, and your pen has yet to fail me when I read what it's produced! |

This is an amazing poem Clair ... I read and pondered over it for about 15 min ... Kept reading things into it ... found it quite intriguing though slightly disturbing Rex |

Sudhir, your "WOW" sounds wonderful this evening, and has "managed" to bring me a smile...thank you, my friend. Martie, thank you, my friend. It is a mutual admiration, for you are one of mine as well. Chris, another "WOW," and I am feeling quite flattered. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response...I love the way you "read" a poem. James, thank you. I was trying to keep it simple. Hope I did alright. Rex, thank you. That you would spend that much time with my poem is so encouraging. I understand what you mean about the "disturbing"...it is that, isn't it? Thank you for reading it. Brian, your "wow" means a lot to me, and I thank you. ~ Claire < !signature--> Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau [This message has been edited by Meadowmuse (edited 08-02-2000).] |

Oh, my gosh ! You are something else. This is such a poignant piece of you. 'Release the sands of sorrow to the flow of freeing foam Each grain, a sharp reminder of the hauntings I have known' 'In a rush of gushing current rolls its crimson 'cross my heart' Remarkable, poetess ! Just remarkable ! I definitely echo the thoughts of our friends. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Claire, I am still in amazement of this. . . This is my favorite part. . . "Love's lying face, soft smiling eyes, is seldom what it seems" Too often have we looked into the face of love only to see nothing. . . Haunting in its beauty my friend. . . ------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Your reaches become more expansive with every new post. This one creates the need for will and the will for need at the same time and I shall have to add it to my personal library so I may reflect on it more. Thank you for such wonderful verse. |
