My Light Uncloaked by Michael Auguste There is such stillness in the night While in this quiet my thoughts are clear Of the things in life that matter And of the people I hold dear My poetry is mediocre So to publish, mere fantasy It's simply something that I do To help share what so thrives in me What lives in me I often cloak The radiance I dare not show I cannot let the shine escape I cannot even let it glow With some I have shared of this light And in so doing, saw their own Our friendship brighter since we shared Now so much closer we have grown This light dwells deep within us all We often hide the majesty For fear to hurt or being hurt So often hard the balance be We clothe ourselves in layers thick We fear to trust, so fail to shine And keep within us all we are I've often done the same with mine But recently I chose to trust Though still afraid, uncloaked my light And let my heart be viewed in depth I only hope that I was right Proust- "Love is space and time measured by the heart" |

Michael...you shine like he brightest lighthouse on this foggy shore...please please never hide your light...I look to it each and every day to keep me from crashing on that rocky beach... you touch people you dont even know with your words, myself being one of them. |

man...You just have such a good attitude. and I know what you say is true, and I love your writing, but it is sure hard to live...but your poetry makes it easier. Mediocre? I think not. |

Michael* This poem is amazing...there is nothing mediocre about it or any of your other poems..you have one gift among many that can't help but shine here at Passions...there is not a cloak made that hides a poets heart...and yours my friend is truly beautiful. Michael~ Not gonna shoot you any bull ... if I didn't think it was any good ... I wouldn't take the time to read it ... much less reply ! You need just one-half the belief in yourself as others have in you.
