You are soft rain That comes in spring That brings me life That makes my heart sing You are flowers Blossoms in my seeing Fragrance and color giving To my total being You are food on my plate Fuel to keep me going Lending taste to my palate Day by day growing You are breezes, zephyrs Setting fire to my blood My summer sunshine Heating me like a flood You are thermals, updrafts Where my glider wings Do carry me aloft So I can soar and sing Your arms, like ivy vines Snaring me, wrapping me Envelope me in your warmth Loving me - securely Your lips, like finest vintage Are the sweetness felt On my tongue, in my soul So I feel I will melt Your eyes, the depth of love Wherein I dive swimming Pools of incandescent beauty Wherein I bathe drowning I feel you palpably like my Flannel shirt, pants of khaki Softly, I wear you like a Badge of honor, a humble lackey I say all this to let you know I feel I am because of you The luckiest man ever The world can view |
