Music of the muse's quill,
As sweet as song of whippoorwill,
Echoes not a call to arms,
No morals hid within her charms,
Haunting odes of melancholy,
Cloaked idyllic; pastorale,
Beauty of midsummer's night,
Darkness bathed in Luna's light,
Throbbing verse of biting sorrow,
Suggestions of a new tomorrow,
Her song flows not, in width nor depth,
But one pure note, in angel's breath,
Speaking not in mortal word,
Cecilia sings in tongue unheard,
What lance has pierced her shadowed veil,
What bars have caged, dear nightingale?
Doth matter not, her wounds disclose,
Hidden thorns shield beauteous rose.

Beautifully written poem,

Cloaked idyllic; pastorale,
Beauty of midsummer's night,
Darkness bathed in Luna's light,
Throbbing verse of biting sorrow,

So good to read your words tonight, my friend. This is captivating, haunting, masterfully composed.
