~ My Dreaming Death ~ by poetFemmeFatale Stillframes of my life - were flashing there in front of me Memories & images - much like a short movie - The lights around me flickering - it was my time to go Like a candle dancing in the breeze, before that final blow. My pupils fixed, my heart now still - I took my final breath As the sweetest darkness welcomed me - It was my dreaming death - For a moment there in limbo, as my soul prepared for flight It was like the darkest morning but in fact, the brightest night... Music softly playing - I could feel it in my ears Like the sweetest, softest whisper - that erases doubtful fears - Something urged me forward, like my soul knew where to go I was on my way to Heaven - a small voice had told me so. Far off in the distance, I could see a tranquil land And much to my surprise - I felt something take my hand - My eyes were fixed on meadowglades, & crystal mountain streams I had never seen such beauty - never in my wildest dreams... There were daffodils & hollihocks as far as eye could see And a garden full of roses that were blooming just for me - I stood in awe and stared at all this breathless, endless land But why was I here all alone - I didn't understand? Not a soul in sight, no multitudes, no singing angel's choir It was then I knew, that heaven is - my own heart's true desire - Like Eve alone in paradise - I walked along the shore of the deepest emerald ocean & I prayed for one thing more... My feet deep in the whitest sands - hair blowing in the wind I asked that God find me an angel, someone he could send - Who would show me how it feels to love - the truest, purest way I had never known that down on earth - not even for a day... That night, my soul fell fast asleep, beneath a willow tree And when I awoke - I saw him there - my angel of the Sea - His eyes of passion green - he stood tall & dressed in white He took my hand & helped me stand, my strong angelic knight. He whispered, "I have come to you - to be your guiding soul - to love you & to dream with you - complete & make you whole. Our hearts have always beat as one - we're from the same bright star, I'll never leave you lonely, always be there where you are..." He brushed my hair back from my face - his eyes looked deep in mine Eternity was all we had - no distance, space or time. Somewhere in the background, I could hear an angel's choir As our love ignited, burning bright - heaven's purest fire... It was then I knew, that heaven is - my own heart's true desire. *Dedicated to my angel* |

I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone of you who faithfully continues to read my works...I know I haven't been as active here lately, but I do plan to get back here more frequently, real soon! Things are slowly coming together in a more organized manner in my life, (ROFLMAO) and I hope to be a familiar face around here again soon. I've missed all of you desperately, and I know I'm missing out on alot of good poetry, by not being here as much. I will do my best to get back to each and every one of you, and catch up ASAP! Life is good, and I'm still dreaming! Your comments mean the world to me, and they encourage me to keep writing my sappy thoughts, so thanks! I know this poem was a big "strange", and it definately took a different turn in the end than I first anticipated, but I thought, "What the heck!" Sorry it was so long - I pat everyone on the back who had the patience to read it through! ![]() |

Good morning poetFemmeFatale, I found what you have written, and it touched me as I read it. This is so very beautiful, written by someone whose heart must be so very tender. It flows with grace, and the words are exquisite with purpose. Thank you for inviting me for a visit to your place, and I would visit again. Again, this is so very beautiful. To share this with me, I am grateful. |
