No, I didn't mean to fall off the planet like that. My internet access went kaput so I ended up getting -- ugh -- AOL. I have become everything I have feared.

Mike

-drifting-
A bird fell from the sky and broke its wings.
It broke its eyes. It broke its legs. It broke its spirit.
It broke its persistence. It broke its insistence.
It broke its hopeless hope. It broke its loveless love.
It broke its uncared for moments and unseen pleasures.
It broke its soul and past for present.
I broke.

It drifts like a feather on the water.
It drifts like a petal on a tear.
It drifts like an icicle and a glacier.
I drift like the sun at dusk and dawn,
All the in-between time alone in the sky.
Friends are clouds.

What latch, what hinge,
What button, what switch,
What breath, what touch,
What moment, what time.
What's together?

What song, what prayer,
What sin, what dare,
What love, what loss,
What hate, what cost?

What -- I'm drifting --
do I do when I'm drifting?
I'm drifting,

and now I'm gone.

AOL can't be all that bad.....it brought you back and enabled you to share this great write!!   Enjoyed the read, and I, for one, am all for drifting......call it relaxation therapy!!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!
