I hold a rose up to my chest
it's plain for you to see
you think it's pretty and yes it is
but it has yet to be

This rose holds a secret
that I only hold the key
just ask the right question
and I'll gladly turn the key

The rose has yet to open
as yet my love for thee
open your heart and let me in
for here I'll always be
