"Crown Jewels" ~ Voices Reborn

Faded pages O so old
treasured poems to unfold
Copyright 1887 then 1888
J. R. Jones, a potentate

Introduction read so fine
a collection of poems then some rhyme
treasured prose and narrative
this is how we use to live.

Dickens, Moore, John Milton
Browning, Tennyson & Burns
I enjoy so reading this
for look at all I've learned…

Longfellow & Southey
Holmes, Coleridge & Hill
did you know the elephant's poem
was older than the hills?

Index of First Lines
a collected treasure in own right
just to read the very first lines
that fall beneath my sight

There's even "Choice Selections"
of Vocal and Instrumental Music
if you didn't know how old a song
here you can find it rustic…

and now we'll have our own…
as Passions in Poetry has ever grown

look at all the names in here
look at the wisdom and the cheer
look where all the voices belong
raised in unison, breathing song

to know that in a century gone
Voices on the Web will belong
to someone who would pen some rhyme
to last throughout a century's time.

~*~*~*~*~

In coming tribute, we thank you, Ron!

Thank you Sudhir, and my timing was perfect, because I know Ron is busy as we speak, sending out missives...may fortune rain on everyone...

I was almost going to say that sunshine is bit clouded by the drugs... oh the therapy... by the way did the doc advise to grit teeth together to help ease pain

hehe...clouded isn't the word...and gritting the teeth doesn't help...

O should I fall into the arms of Morpheus...
and not awake till the dawn...

I am only now seeing the magnitude of the project and I appreciate all of your efforts Ron to publish our poetry. For many of us it will be our first published poem.
I thank you for all you done
Sunshine , this is a lovely and well deserved tribute

Thank you all...amazing that this old book from 1888 could make me think that in 100 years, someone may still be perusing "old" poetry via Visions on the Web and seeing YOUR names!
