ICQ Gossip Racetrack In the strictest of confidence I’ll tell you a secret about something That no one else must know Because OH! What pain it would bring After all, it is someone else’s woe Yes, I knew I could trust you I know you won’t tell another soul And since we are on the subject Don’t they know this affair is out of control? And that surely we all would suspect? What! You mean you already knew! Oh, most certainly a tangled web he waives She should know there are no perfect lies Yet, she practices to deceive As they cling to their alibis How can we know about someone never met? Believing in rumours that got foolishly started By those who know no more then jack Spreading idle talk of the broken hearted Through the ICQ gossip racetrack Marina Aug 29/2000 It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen Marina Crossley |

Marina-this is just perfect and I must say the timing is perfect as well. I commend you on a wonderful write and the warning that we must ALL take heed to. You are so good it hurts.LOL.....way to go on your timing issue...I will someday explain to you.  |

It's too bad that gossip has to exist. . . and people make decisions that are not theirs to make. . . but we can only hope that the friends that we do trust our secrets with will never betray that trust. . . What I find odd is that when someone tells me something in the strictest confidence, swearing me to secrecy (which I hold as sacred trust)..I find out from 3 other people that they've been told the same story(if not more!). So don't play me. If you want to discuss something private, I will oblige. I will hold your confidence. But don't turn around and tell everyone else. |

Thank you to all of you....... Unfortunitely, there is just to mention of you to thank individauly, but all your comments,compliments and your peeves I have read. I was just blowing off some steam I guess. I have a problem with people who will talk behind your back, but not to your face. As most of my close friends here at Passions know, I say what is on my mind and I always tell the truth even when it will hurt another. I wish some would exstend me the some curtisy or keep their mouths shut. I will not be talked about behind my back or have my close friends talked about either. Thank you again to those who are truly my friends. Marina, I must applaud you on a clever and well constructed piece of writing. Though I have been a Passions member for some time, I know very few people here, so I don't hear or worry about the gossip, but this poem definitely conveys a strong message to the reader. my belief is the moment you tell one person anything you wish to be private...it no longer is a secret.... and yes I have been very irritated with those who say I am asking your confidence which I will hold and then they have told everyone the same secret....so now I don't want to hold anyone's confidence..if they need to talk I will listen and I won't share it but dont tell me it's a secret...good work!!! ~~warm thoughts always Maureen |

sounds like national enquirer has hit Icq, everyone tends to gossip at one time or another but when someone tells you something that is to be kept between each other that's a bond that should not be broken. very good poem Marina |

Marina, This is very true. Maybe I don't have the right attitude but I really feel that the only person you can "really" trust is yourself. Not that I don't give "all" to my friendships but I find when I do say something I fully prepare to here it from someone else. As for the people who make up the gossip..I fell sorry for them as they must leave very empty lives. By the way, I love all you write. LET of your sream girl!!!! Thats what were here for.. Jenn E |
