Alone I StandNow late the days of summer's scene arriving just beneath a dream that nestle, warm, and rise anew to suckle, sweet, of morning's dew As cool, the earth lies under grass awaiting autumn's brilliant brass and dark to dark grows least and less 'tween sun's awake and evening's rest Alone I stand 'neath painted skies and think upon where future lies as clouds crawl, crimson, out of sight and summer slips into the night |

As Summer's day gives way to Autumn's night We say farewell to it's warming light To welcome the colors of Autumn's time For there is only one that can make it shine Just wonderful Claire. . . farewell Summer. . . we hardly knew thee. . . AS Michael said: "This is a small masterpiece. So lovely...just splendid" I could not agree more Thank You Bill ~If you let yourself be absorbed completely, if you surrender completely to the moments as they pass, you live more richly those moments. ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~ wilfredyeats@hotmail.com [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 08-29-2000).] |
