Friendship In the quiet suburban evening over a glass of wine or three, the art of conversation lives amidst good company. Soft music in the background, laughter ringing in the ear, we talk of loves won and lost, of hopes and dreams we hold dear. The conversation turns so quickly from laughter round to gloom, from the sadness of addiction to who's smile lights up the room. We could save the world, wipe out pain and remove all man kinds fears. We'd mend broken hearts and create love without the tears. With the daring born of friendship we can cure the world of its ills. But to have a perfect world, we need to start within ourselves. |

The moments like this and the friendships like this are something to be held and cherished as I see you do... The closing lines were an awesome way to wrap it up. Great work Dee~ |

Butterflies, one of these friends moved to the other side of the country so these moments are even more cherished. Thanks for your kind words. Dee |

Dee - Only six responses to this poem, including yours? I can't believe it. This is a very sweet poem, filled with thoughts and scenes that would make anyone pause and smile in remebrance of similar times. As for starting with ourselves, how very true indeed. Get back up to the top! |

Lovely poem. I agree with long John. Get back to the top. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |
