The street is quiet The bee hum dimmer The grass seems a bit less green Small puddles remain Shower's aftermath Flowers are slow to perk up In the house the silence Shouts at me A few beams from the window Trying to get a foothold on the rug Rover's tail unmoved I'm not ever acknowledged Does everything, Everyone Know you're away? ~*Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring. ~ Oscar Wilde ~ *~ wilfredyeats@hotmail.com |

Bill--Funny how some people just warm up a room and bring everything to life, or ...is it your feelings that make it seem that way? Enjoyed your poem..(psst...if you had some doggy treats, your dog would be more attentive) |

Hey - this is a fantasy - fantasy dogs don't eat but - yes it is funny that things seem different without a loved one - Thank you Martie ~S~ ~*Keep love in your heart. Wilfred, an excellent piece of writing. Your itemization of the slowed surroundings sets about effectively showing the stillness, a change obviously noted by the observer, and an indication of loss. Wonderfully expressed, to my way of thinking. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

You've described this with perfection! Silence does seem to shout don't it? I get so little of it that I'll listen to that kind of shout anytime! Enjoyed this! |
