Double Image

A mirror seeks confession
From a hushed soul
A dilemma causing depression
But from who have you stole?

Envy, the evil of intent
Jealousy, the devil’s dance of joy
War rages when one is never content
And who will be destroyed?

The mirror does reveal
What your heart truly feels
True self cannot be concealed
For the image is always true and real

It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen

Marina,

I love the first line.

A mirror seeks confession
From a hushed soul

Marina....
          This is a great line:

     "True self cannot be concealed"

The mirror certainly reveals all, and sometimes things we don't want to see!!
This is a great read!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it

Jealousy is indeed a trait that can eat at one's soul...
I think this is a powerful piece of work, Marina...I'm still pondering your words of wisdom.

Excellent Marina,
the mirror truly does show all. . . if only we'd see it. . .

Superb poem my friend. . .

Sonjes, thank you.  I think jealously is a very powerful emotion.  Thank you for reading and your post.

Sven, thank you my friend.  Yes, there are so many of us who look but don't see.

Loving ones self and having respect for yourself as well will abandon the evils of jealously and envy.  I believe it is called self worth.  Lovely piece.

Yes James, you are right to a certain extent.  Whether we like it or not it is a human emotion and it is in all of us.

Sudhir, thank you my friend.

Mark, you said it all perfectly!  Thank you my friend.
