Seems everyone asked too soon,
Quickly asked,
As soon as enters the room,
Age, sex and your location,
In the short
In a chatroom notation.
Give them all information
Stories asked
For brief evaluation.

Settle yourself, there in the room,
Watching others conversing,
Then someone tries to pierce through,
Undaunted by age of Gloom,
Spirits slowly traversing,
Gathering moments of two,
Inside and outside the room.

Then one day,
There was nothing more to say,
Gone away.

Gone.

Gloom

Gloom, does A/S/L refer to age, sex and location? I don't know much about chat rooms, but your words conveyed a very human experience, taken place within what seems to be a very anonymous environment. As always, your sense of mood comes through quite effectively. I look forward to your work.

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

rofl HOW annoying! I used to go to msn chat all the time and that was the first thing someone would do....come in the room, immediately whisper you and say A/S/L???
Then if instead, I'd say "hi", they'd repeat A/S/L???????
LOL so I would say....
"I'm from Wisconsin, 449#, 53 yrs old, 4'11", oh and female, but I do male impersonations from time to time..."
That usually shut them up.

fun lil snippet of thought here

Give me passion's chatter anytime...much more fulfilling...

by the way, I'm 180 years old, of questionable sex, and I'm everywhere!

ah professor Gloom I'll assume nice to meet you. Your so right about the asl thing the minute you step in they're stepping on your toes wanting to know your life's story. But hey got to have something to chat about, as for me I would rather tell of someone else it's more fun that way lol.. very good poem!

I don't like chat rooms..you spend half your time saying hello or goodbye to everyone! A/S/L should be:

Are you a poet?
Should be a poet?
Love for you to be a poet!
