Sometimes...
....Writing Does No Justice.

The wren
slick with remnants of night's hand
weighing heavily upon her breast.
Beak closed, housing a silence,
ears joining a leaf's crackle.
The duet heartsounds
shuttering to wind's quest
reveal what the ink cannot.

The thistle
spreading its fingers greedily
among the scent of heather
will choke finer greenery
in her attempt to exist.
Her will growing stronger to express
needs as each petal appears.
The irony blooms,
revealing what the ink cannot.

The woman,
features pale, stature sedate.
Behind weakened eyelids lives
knowledge held confidently.
Pressed upon her forehead
are years of drama.
A lifeline of wisdom
paves her shaking palms;
scored footprints into
her soul.
Ponderance of each step
reveals what the ink cannot.

Good morning chansondegeste,
Caught your poem just as it came up. Quite a message that is to be read from your writing.

Hello chansondegeste..

         This is a great line.....
    "scored footprints into her soul"!!!!
Oh, the images here are truly wonderful!
I like poems that paint pictures, and
you did a splendid job on this one!!

Today is a gift....

Thank you Sunny!

It's a very good thing I don't have paints
and a brush in hand when I'm writing.
What a mess that would be! (A painter I am
not. *grin*)

Very pleased you enjoyed. Thank you again  ...chanson~

Chanson~
I am stunningly impressed with this piece.
Such delicate imagery flung across the canvas.

You have a wonderful grasp of the craft.
I enjoyed this.

You are very kind, Marge. I'm happy you enjoyed it. (If I had to choose, this one would be one of my favorite ones)

Again, thank you  ....chanson~
